This year, 30 masters from 12 foreign countries took part in the events: Italy, France, India, Egypt, Japan, Lithuania, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan. More than 60 masters of applied arts from Uzbekistan participated.

“The motto of the IV International Biennale of Applied Arts is “Globalization and the preservation of national traditions: choosing a path” - as a leading idea, it was proposed to consider the problem of preserving the originality of applied art and overcoming the accelerating unification of traditions in the conditions of active globalization of the economy and the dominance of mass culture,” said the curator Biennale Binafsha Nodir.

“At the same time, it is very important to understand that preserving traditions does not mean copying or preserving examples of the past, simplification and primitivization of cultural forms, but serves as the basis for their creative interpretation and innovative development,” she emphasized.

Within the framework of the international biennale, exhibitions of modern Uzbek and foreign decorative art, national ceramics, gold embroidery, jewelry, master classes, presentations, as well as an international scientific and practical conference were held.

Venues include the Central Exhibition Hall of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, the International Caravanserai of Culture of Ikuo Hirayama, the Tashkent House of Photography, the Kamoliddin Bekhzod Museum of Oriental Miniature Arts, and the Fine Arts Gallery of Uzbekistan.

On October 31, 2023, teachers and students of the Higher School of Social Sciences and Humanities held a seminar on the topic: “TESOL benefits and opportunities”

The guest of the seminar was Joseph Sheikh, representative of Prime plus Education UK and Director of Corporate Training in Kazakhstan. He shared his vast experience and knowledge in the field of learning and teaching English.

During the seminar, students actively asked questions, to which the speaker gave comprehensive answers.

As a result, the seminar participants expressed gratitude and there was a request to conduct educational seminars and trainings in the future

On October 30, 2023, Professor of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Vladimir Alekseevich Avatkov and Director of the Institute of Strategic Studies and Forecasts of RUDN University Dmitry Aleksadrovich Egorchenkov visited the Higher School of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Astana International University and gave lectures for students on the topic “Foreign policy of the Republic of Turkey at the present stage " and "Cultural sympathy in the post-Soviet space."

Lectures by international experts aroused great interest among students. The professors shared theoretical and practical knowledge, experience in effective analysis and forecasting of international relations.

The Pedagogical Institute of Astana International University held guest lectures on the discipline "ethnology" and "demography and population statistics." Following experts were invited from JSC "Institute of Economic Research" Ph.D Tuleshova Sh.P., who took a stand to students on the topic "Demographic challenges in Kazakhstan: urbanization" next guest is from the Institute of Applied Ethnopolitical Research MA. Sagynbaeva A.Z. on the topic "Ethnodemographic development of Kazakhstan: brief results of the 2021 population census."

The expert lectures were held in one phase,  the students extended their knowledge , gained a lot of interesting data and received comprehensive answers to their questions.

In high gratitude and appreciation to the experts, the students contributed good feedback and dedicated a beautiful Kazakh song.

On October 24, two important meetings with delegations from China were held at Astana International University. 

The prospects for cooperation in the development of innovative technologies, commercialization of scientific knowledge, the academic field, student exchange and professional practice programs, as well as joint research were discussed with the delegation of the Guangzhou Science and Technology Department.

An agreement was reached with representatives of Jiangsu Ocean University (JOU), headed by the vice-president of JOU, to move to the practical implementation of the agreement on the establishment of the Institute of the Asia-Europe Land-Sea Transport Channel. The functioning of the new research institute will enhance the exchange of knowledge in the field of transport logistics and improving the infrastructure of the important transport route connecting Asia and Europe.

The meetings were an important step towards strengthening educational and scientific ties between the two countries, contributing to the creation of a more harmonious world through education and research.

On October 26, 2023, students of the Higher School of Law of Astana International University together with senior lecturer Seilkhanov Zh.D. visited the Specialized Criminal Court of Astana, where a trial was held on a criminal case with the participation of jurors against a citizen R. accused under Article 297 part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Illegal manufacture, processing, acquisition, storage, transportation for the purpose of sale, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues".

The students also met with the Chairman of the Specialized Criminal Court of Astana, Aizhan Kulbaeva Adilovna. They were given real examples from the rich professional experience of the judge, they received detailed answers to their questions.

October 18 p.m. teachers of the Higher School of Art and Design and students studying WEB design had the opportunity to take a training master class on working with the EV Toolbox designer. This is a software product with ready-made examples and templates of augmented and virtual reality projects, a library of 3D models, training materials in various formats and a support system. A convenient graphical interface with very wide functionality is based on advanced visual scripting technology.

Ambassadors of the team of authors that created the innovative designer (EligoVision Marketing Director Valeria Kholodkova and Ekaterina Novikova Project Manager) conducted express training on using the designer in various display systems or mobile devices to create ER and VR.

VSID teachers and students rated the designer as an excellent solution that meets the needs of the dynamic market of digital design and printing, mobile advertising and marketing. EV Toolbox allows you to “revive” a business card, a page in a catalog, or a circuit diagram of a complex device in a short time without a single line of program code.

In the near future, creative collaboration between students and teachers of VSID plans to create a comprehensive VR advertising product with the aim of actively positioning our higher school in the digital space.

On October 17, 2023, Astana International University hosted a meeting of students and university teachers with the head of the Prevention Department, Asset Kanyshevich Ospanov, and the officer for Particularly important Cases of the Prevention Department, Almagul Yersinovna Kenebayeva of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Corruption in Astana, on the topic "Fighting corruption is a priority direction of state policy".

The event was held as part of the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Policy Concept for 2022-2026.

The Dean of the Higher School of Law Khairmukhanmedov Nurbek Isabayevich made an introductory speech, who noted the importance of holding such events to prevent corruption at the University. The event was also attended by Deputy Dean Seilkhanov Zh.D., curators of the groups Zhambaev E.S., Zhurunova M.K., Eleubekova A.K.

The Head of the Prevention Department Asset Kanyshevich presented materials on the formation of an anti-corruption culture, on state measures to combat corruption, the Concept of anti-corruption Policy for 2022-2026, and also gave examples of the consequences of non-compliance with the anti-corruption law.

Almagul Yersinovna, an officer for particularly important cases of the Prevention Department, in her report stressed the need for strict adherence to the country's anti-corruption policy, at the same time, she outlined the goals, principles and tasks necessary to reduce corruption, involve all citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the anti-corruption movement by creating "zero tolerance" on the part of both students and professors.- teaching staff.

Following the results of the event, students actively asked questions to representatives of the Anti-Corruption Service on topics of interest to them in the framework of anti-corruption.
