On August 20, 2024, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory letter to Professor of the Higher School of Law of Astana International University Isidor Shamilovich Borchashvili.

The Head of State particularly noted the career path of Isidor Shamilovich, who went from an ordinary law enforcement officer to an outstanding scientist. This was the result of his hard work, deep knowledge and high professionalism.

The President is also stressed that Isidor Shamilovich has educated more than one generation of talented lawyers and jurists, made a significant contribution to improving national legislation and actively participates in the public life of the country.

In his congratulatory letter, the Head of State wished Isidor Shamilovich good health, prosperity and success.

Sultan Zhasybai, a graduate of the third incubation stream of the Business Incubator of Astana International University, won a grant for the development of the TAMGA project from «NADI «QazInnovations» JSC. The startup aims to introduce an innovative solution in the field of customs clearance, which is designed to optimize and simplify logistics processes for participants in foreign economic activity.

The TAMGA project belongs to the priority area of information and communication technologies, which includes elements of Industry 4.0, and is aimed at developing the transport and logistics industry in Kazakhstan. 

Sultan Zhasybai and his team are confident that TAMGA will become an important tool for participants in foreign economic activity, including consignees, forwarders, brokers and cargo handling terminals. The grant received will allow the project to expand its functionality and increase competitiveness in the market of Kazakhstan, as well as, in the future, to reach the international level.

Saule Koshanova has a master's degree from the University of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (BLCU and Gumilyov Eurasian National University) on speciality «Regional Studies: China», MBA (Prague, Czech Republic), Consulting Psychologist  (Moscow, Russia), Bachelor of Economics and Business on speciality «Finance», Bachelor in Social Sciences on speciality ««Regional Studies: China». 

Doctor Koshanova collaborated on projects for the UN, World Bank, Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. She was the director of the first Confucius Institute in Kazakhstan, headed the International Educational Programs Department at Gumilyov Eurasian National University. She was the Director of the Research Institute of the Asia-Europe land-sea transport corridor. 

Saule Koshanova is a member of the International Confucian Association, graduate of the School of Analytics of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the Board of Directors of the SCO Institute of Public Diplomacy. Doctor Koshanova was awarded a medal for her contribution to the development and establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.  

More than 20 years of experience of Koshanova S.E. in the Kazakh-Chinese educational/ cultural sphere, as well as, a well-coordinated team provides a solid base for the courses offered at the BLCU Kazakhstan.

The first intake of students for the programs: Foundation (17-25 years old), Language courses (no age limit) and Bachelor's degree is currently underway. AIU students, as participants in the International Summer School, visited the port city of Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province (China). The Summer School program began at UIBE (Beijing City) and continued at Jiangsu Ocean University. Today, Lianyungang is a center of foreign trade and tourism on the Yellow Sea coast. The province produces and processes phosphates, quartz, and natural crystals.

The program was bright and eventful, including educational sessions, cultural events, and visits to enterprises. For two weeks, students studied the Chinese language, got acquainted with the culture, way of life and traditions of the Chinese people. The students enjoyed master classes on making fans, learning to row on dragon boats and competitions, visiting the International Logistics Park and Huagoshan Mountain with the kingdom of monkeys.

A visit to the China-Kazakhstan International Logistics Company in the city of Lianyungang was educational for students majoring in International Business. The students also visited a pharmaceutical company where scientific research is carried out.

All participants of the summer school, and these are students from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Ghana, Egypt, became one big friendly team, jointly held a concert and a feast of treats, where each country presented its dishes and concert performances. At the end, all participants received certificates.

From July 22 to 27, 2024, the long-awaited ENACTUS Summer Camp took place on the basis of the «Prostor» recreation area in the East Kazakhstan region. For six days, the team of the Astana International University ENACTUS AIU with other students of Kazakhstan plunged into the world of social projects and entrepreneurship, being charged with inspiration and new knowledge.

ENACTUS is an international non—profit organization that unites students and business leaders to implement social projects aimed at improving the quality of life and sustainable development. ENACTUS members develop and implement initiatives that contribute to solving social, economic and environmental problems in communities around the world.

"Prostor" has become an ideal place to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of entrepreneurship and collaboration. Our students, participants of the business incubator Sayran Karim Aidarkhanuly, Turlubekova Diana Zhantasovna, Mukambayev Timur Dauletovich, Sapash Aizhan Alibekkyzy passed various trainings, master classes, shared their ideas on the development of startup projects and achieving the goals of sustainable development of society. The guys came inspired and determined to implement ambitious projects in the field of entrepreneurship.
