The trainings were held both online and offline. The development of creative thinking and social innovation becomes the engine of economic growth and contributes to the creation of new jobs and the solution of socially significant problems. This academic year, the School of Natural Sciences initiated the EcoNavigator project to oversee environmental events and activities occurring in the city. Students disseminate information about these events via social media, thereby contributing to raising societal environmental awareness. The firstl event from EcoNavigator is a Fashion Show featuring Kazakhstani designers.

Nowadays, fashion is becoming not only a means of self-expression, but also a powerful tool for drawing public attention to important issues. 🌿💡Ecology students who attended the show highlighted the conceptual collection "Children of the Desert" by the Damira Bal brand.🏜️✨Every day more and more brands and designers prioritizing environmental issues, raising them to a new level of awareness, and integrating sustainability into their practices.

04/05/2024 at Astana International University a training seminar was organized on the topic “INTERNATIONALIZATION OF EDUCATION WITH FOREIGN PARTNER UNIVERSITIES” by the leader and participants of the grant project AP14872046 “Development of linguistic and cultural competencies of students based on the internationalization of higher education in Kazakhstan” from Kyzylorda Korkyt Ata University. 

During the seminar, reports from project participants were presented, Team Building training, and question and answer sessions were conducted. More than 50 professors from different Astana universities took part in the training seminar. At the end of the seminar participants were awarded certificates.

The goal of subject Olympiads is to support and develop talented youth, as well as to form a conscious and responsible attitude towards the environment. Participation in Olympiads helps to expand and deepen knowledge about environmental problems, develop critical thinking and creative abilities in students.

On April 23-24, 2024, 2nd year students of the specialty “Ecology and Environmental Management” Nagashybaeva Karakoz, Nurtazaeva Ayazhan and Namenova Guldana took the 3rd place in the international online Olympiad in ecology at the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov.

Also, ecology students took part in the Republican Olympiad, which was held at the South Kazakhstan Research University named after M. Auezov on April 24-26, 2024. Our university was represented by a team of 3rd year students of the specialty "Ecology and Environmental Management" (Abuova Tamiris, Ermek Moldir, Shaltik Asylzhan) and toke 5th place among 17 universities in Kazakhstan.

We congratulate our winners and express our deep gratitude senior teacher of the School of Natural Sciences PhD Aiman Karabalayeva for supervision of the students.

As part of Career Day, students of the Higher School of Natural Sciences majoring in “Recreational Geography and Tourism,” accompanied by curator Auezova Nurkuigan, visited the “ALZHIR” Museum and Memorial Complex. During the excursion, students had the opportunity to learn about the terrible events that took place in the camp and their historical context.

Undoubtedly, the formation of patriotism and morality among students is the main goal of such excursions. But for students studying tourism, museums are also of professional interest. Museums ensure the preservation and development of history and convey the ethno-cultural characteristics of the people. Cultural and historical tourism is one of the most popular and widespread types of tourism. Kazakhstan, having many historical, cultural and geographical monuments, has great potential for the successful development of cultural tourism!

Students of the Pedagogical Institute took part in the lecture which was held by Doctors of Pedagogical Sciences Asipova Nurbubu Asanalievna and Karabalaeva Gulmira Tashtanovna who are professors of Kyrgyz National University named after Zh.Balasagun. N. A. Asipova lectured on the topic of «Intercultural Communication as a Theoretical Discipline and Social Practice», and G. T. Karabalaeva on the topic of «the State and Prospects for the Development of Inclusive Higher Education in Kyrgyzstan». During the meeting, the guests met with the president of AIU (Astana International University) S. Irsaliyev and signed a memorandum of mutual cooperation between the Kyrgyz National University named after Zh.Balasagun and Astana International University.

On April 17, 2024, the results of the I Interuniversity Marketing Olympiad «Kazakhmarket challenge» organized by the Higher School of Economics, were summed up. 6 applications were submitted for participation in the Olympiad, including from the cities of Karaganda, Pavlodar, Shymkent and Taraz. The experts were M. Amatov, an international business coach, public figure, social entrepreneur; Tursumbaeva M. Zh. Head of OP Marketing, Ass. Professor of Esil University, Kadyrova G. A., Ph.D., Associate Professor, Higher School of Economics. According to the results of the work of the expert commission, the following works were recognized as the best:

• 1st place - team of Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz

• 2nd place - Astana International University team and Sherkhan Murtaza atyndagy Halyk aralyk Innovation institutes

• 3rd place - the team of Karaganda Research University (Karaganda University named after Academician E.A. Buketov) and Taraz Regional University named after M.Kh. Dulati.

Participants received certificates, diplomas of winners of I, II and III degrees. Congratulations to all winners and prize-winners! We wish the participants further success in their studies and professional activities! We thank the experts, jury members for their cooperation and fair assessment of the work of the participants in the Olympiad.

On April 24, 2024, a meeting of the section of the Higher School of Economics was held «Economic horizon: a look into the present and future». In total, 59 scientific articles were submitted to the section, 9 speakers took part: 8 offline and 1 online. At the beginning of the section, the partners spoke with welcoming words and congratulations: E. V. Nekhoda, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Director of the Institute of Economics and Management of Tomsk State University (RF) and O. P. Nedospasova, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of Organizational Behavior and Personnel Management, Tomsk State University (RF). During the conferences, participants spoke on topics such as: IT technologies in management, the digital economy, the impact of marketing technologies on business during crisis situations, the introduction of a universal declaration for business, a model for the development of entrepreneurship through innovation, digital currency, etc. Based on the results of the section’s work, the board members unanimously decided to award:

 1st degree diploma - Erzhan A. N.

 2nd degree diplomas - Eleuova A. T. and Kabysheva D. E.

 3rd degree diplomas - Fazilov B. B., Nurtazina L.K. and Danilova I.V.

It was also decided to allocate the nomination «Relevance and novelty of research» for the scientific report to Kazaku P.I.

On April 24, 2024, the Higher School of Economics of Astana International University held a round table on the topic «Adaptability of the economy: theoretical and practical aspects». The round table was held as part of an international scientific and practical conference. 13 people spoke at the round table, including 11 doctors of science and professors. They represented a number of leading universities in Kazakhstan (Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Maqsut Narikbayev University, AlmaU), quasi-state organizations (“KazakhInvest”, “Institute of Economic Research” of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan) and research centers.

The participants discussed the monograph by Doctor of Economic Sciences M. Kazhyken “Model of Adaptive Economy”. The speakers expressed their opinions on three key points:

• adaptability is a property of the modern economy

• economic adaptability is ensured by economic institutions

• economic adaptability is the adaptability of entrepreneurship.

As a result of the round table, a resolution was adopted that supported the idea of creating a scientific economic school at Astana International University. It is proposed to hold the next round table in the fall of 2024 to continue the discussion of the theoretical aspects of the adaptive economy model.
