On
the basis of the partner university - Nazarbayev University, the social
marathon Makaton "TOM: Astana" starts, in which students and
university teachers can take part. The makaton will be held in 2 stages, the
first stage is PreTOM - on October 21 and the second stage is TOM - on November
25-28. The goal of the project is to create prototype inventions for people
with disabilities.
Makaton
is a platform for young people who can and want to create innovations,
rationalize existing solutions among people with disabilities, show
non–standard thinking and skills for the benefit of various categories of the
population, city, region, country. At the end of 72 hours, each team must
demonstrate to the jury members ready-made prototypes that solve the problems
of people with hearing, vision, and musculoskeletal disorders. Throughout the
make-up, the teams will be accompanied by consulting specialists in the field
of programming, sports medicine, rehabilitation.
The
permanent organizers of the meikaton in the city of Nur-Sultan are the Astana
Zhastary Youth Resource Center and the Association of Friends of Tel Aviv
University in the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the Department of
Youth Policy of Nur-Sultan and the public association of the NGO
"Kazakhstan Confederation of Disabled People".
The
deadline for submitting an application for participation is until October 8,
