On November 27, Astana International University hosted an important roundtable on the topic "Humanitarian Aspects of Information Security and 'Soft Power' as Factors for Sustainable Development and National Consolidation of Kazakhstan." The event brought together leading experts and scholars to discuss how Kazakhstan can address modern challenges and effectively use "soft power" to strengthen national unity.
Asem K. Rakhmetova, a member of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, emphasized the importance of finding humanitarian solutions to protect the country’s information space in her speech.
Kazbek U. Maigeldinov, moderator of the roundtable and Chairman of the "Association of Chinese Researchers," facilitated open and productive discussions among the participants.
The roundtable featured renowned experts, including:
- Galym Baituk, Chairman of the Board of North Kazakhstan University named after M. Kozybaev;
- Aidar K. Kurmashev, Head of the Asian Studies Department at KISI under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Alexander I. Drogovoz, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Education at A.N. Kosygin Russian State University;
- Alibek T. Tazhibayev, Director of the Eurasian Monitoring Center;
and other well-known scholars and analysts.
The discussions covered a wide range of topics, from information security protection to the use of cultural influence and diplomacy to enhance Kazakhstan’s stability. Practical solutions were presented to help shape future government policies.
