On November 13, 2024, the "Qazaqstan" Athletic Arena in Astana hosted the exciting “ҚАЖЫМҰҚАН ЖОЛЫ - STUDENT CUP” sports tournament. The event brought together 32 participants, with two representatives from each university, competing in five power disciplines inspired by Kazakh traditions:
- Bag lifting: Lifting 50 kg bags within 2 minutes.
- Static chain hold: Holding a 24 kg chain.
- Steel bending: Bending a steel rod of 14 mm diameter and 60 cm length within a time limit.
- Bag tossing: Throwing an 80 kg bag over a bar.
- Tug of war.
AIU was proudly represented by Meyrim Bakhtiyar, a student of the “6B01504 — Geography” program, and Tulepbay Asylbek. They showcased outstanding strength and determination, securing an impressive 2nd place among the competitors.
