Innovations against insects: How the EcoLight UV student project is changing the urban environment

Ermek Ispanov, a second-year student of the DS-23B group and a participant in the business-incubator of Astana International University, successfully presented his EcoLight UV project at the Red Bull Basement 2024 business Ideas competition. Thanks to the unique concept and innovative approach, his project was included in the TOP 20 best startups of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

EcoLight UV is a street lighting system with integrated ultraviolet modules designed to safely kill insects, which allows you to create a comfortable environment in public places. Unlike traditional chemical insecticides, EcoLight UV is safe for the environment and people. The project is aimed at the local, commercial and private sectors, as well as the developer market, positioning itself as an environmentally friendly and effective alternative for a modern city.
