As part of the planned events dedicated to the National Currency Day and the Financier's Day, on November 15, 2023, first-year students of the Finance Department of Astana International University under the guidance of HSE lecturer G.A. Kadyrova visited the Museum of the Central Branch of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the tour, students received information about the national currency – tenge, its origin, development and uniqueness. They learned that today the Kazakhstani tenge, which has 18 degrees of protection, is among the most protected currencies in the world. Cash desks of branches of the National Bank of Kazakhstan sell investment coins made of precious metals – gold and silver.
This year, the Kazakhstani tenge celebrates its 30th anniversary. In honor of the significant date, the National Bank of Kazakhstan issued new banknotes with images of saiga, snow leopard, golden eagle, tobet and tazy, as well as collectible coins TEŃGEGE 30 JYL from the series of coins "Outstanding events and people".
