On November 13, 2024, the "Qazaqstan" Athletic Arena in Astana hosted the exciting “ҚАЖЫМҰҚАН ЖОЛЫ - STUDENT CUP” sports tournament. The event brought together 32 participants, with two representatives from each university, competing in five power disciplines inspired by Kazakh traditions:

• Bag lifting: Lifting 50 kg bags within 2 minutes.
• Static chain hold: Holding a 24 kg chain.
• Steel bending: Bending a steel rod of 14 mm diameter and 60 cm length within a time limit.
• Bag tossing: Throwing an 80 kg bag over a bar.
• Tug of war.

AIU was proudly represented by Meyrim Bakhtiyar, a student of the “6B01504 — Geography” program, and Tulepbay Asylbek. They showcased outstanding strength and determination, securing an impressive 2nd place among the competitors.

On November 12, 2024, the Astana International University hosted a guest lecture by Henk Frencken, a recognized expert in the field of educational technologies and pedagogy. The event was dedicated to the integration of creativity, pedagogical methods and technologies into the educational process using the TPACK model, which combines content, pedagogy and technology to create an effective learning experience.

Henk Frenken shared unique ideas on how teachers and students can creatively approach lesson planning by combining traditional teaching methods with modern digital tools. The lecturer gave examples of the successful use of technology to increase student engagement and improve the quality of presentation, emphasizing that the key aspect remains the pedagogical focus, and not the replacement of teaching with technology.

The lecture aroused great interest among teachers and students of the university, giving them the opportunity to familiarize themselves with advanced techniques and be inspired to introduce innovative approaches to the educational process. Astana International University continues to create an educational environment that supports the development of creativity and modern teaching methods, offering its students and teachers opportunities for professional growth and exchange of experience with international experts.

On November 8, 2024, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Azamat Yeskarayev congratulated the Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor of the Higher School of Law of Astana International University - Isidor Shamilovich Borchashvili on his 70th birthday.

Isidor Shamilovich is a veteran of law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Justice, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of legal science and legislation of the country. His many years of work and dedication to the profession made him an example for subsequent generations of lawyers and scientists.

The Minister of Justice and the staff of the Ministry expressed deep gratitude to Professor Borchashvili I.Sh. for his outstanding work. They wished the hero of the day good health, well-being and spiritual harmony.

Astana International University (AIU) has once again opened its doors to high school students, inviting students to a career guidance event. This time, the university was visited by children from one of the schools in Astana, who had the opportunity to get to know the curricula, students' lives and career prospects more closely.

Such meetings have already become a good tradition at AIU and take place on a regular basis with students from different schools in the city. Each event helps high school students understand the specifics of professions, explore learning opportunities and make an informed choice about their future.

At the meeting, the students took a tour of the campus, talked with teachers and students who shared their experiences and inspiring stories. Questions about career prospects, modern specialties and educational programs aroused great interest among the participants.

On November 10, 2024, an International art competition was held, in which students of the educational program 6B01710 Teacher of English and Russian languages, the group IYA 23-4 of our university — Bolatova Dilyara and Smile Gulfairuz successfully performed. They demonstrated a high level of skill and talent, which earned them well-deserved awards.

Smile Gulfairuz took 1st place in the nomination "Expressive reading of a poem", showing a brilliant command of the technique of performance and a deep understanding of the work.

Bolatova Dilara became the winner of the Grand Prix in the nomination "Vocal art (solo)", leaving behind 32 competitors. Her voice and technique impressed the jury, which ensured her well-deserved recognition.

The head of the students, senior lecturer at Astana International University Zhanybekova Bagdagul Nurkhatovna, was awarded the diploma "Best Teacher" for the preparation of the winners of the competition.

From October 17 to 19, 2024, representatives of the School of Social Entrepreneurship "Oreli urpak" of Astana International University took part in the XIII International Forum of Social Entrepreneurs and Investors "INNOSIB-2024" in Omsk (Russian Federation).

The INNOSIB Forum has become an important platform for discussion and interaction between representatives of social entrepreneurship, non-profit organizations, leaders of civil initiatives, as well as representatives of the expert community, government and business. This year, the forum brought together more than 300 participants from different countries, providing an opportunity to share experiences and establish business ties.

Within the framework of the forum, the delegation of Astana International University participated in a series of master classes and dialogue platforms, where topical topics and trends in the field of social entrepreneurship were discussed. Representatives of the university also visited the Omsk Region business incubator, which allowed them to get to know more about regional initiatives to support social projects and startups.

One of the significant events of the forum was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the Omsk regional public organization "Center for Social Innovations". This agreement is aimed at developing partnership projects in the field of social entrepreneurship and strengthening interregional cooperation.

Participation in the forum was an important step in the development of the social entrepreneurship program "Oreli Urpak" and opened up new opportunities for the implementation of joint projects aimed at improving the social climate and supporting the initiatives of young entrepreneurs.

We thank the organizers of the INNOSIB 2024 forum for the opportunity to share experiences and establish new partnerships, which will undoubtedly help in the further development of social entrepreneurship and the introduction of innovative solutions in Kazakhstan and beyond.

On November 7, 2024, as part of the "Popularization of Science" program, Astana International University welcomed Dr. Baltabek Esmatovich Kanguzhin, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Professor at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, for an engaging lecture on "Aleumettik Mathematics" (Social Mathematics).

Held in the university's assembly hall (auditorium 213) from 13:40 to 14:40, the event attracted students and faculty with a keen interest in the applications of mathematics within social sciences.

During his lecture, Professor Kanguzhin highlighted how mathematics can play a critical role in analyzing and addressing social issues, focusing on key aspects like modeling and mathematical methods in social research.

As part of the "Marketing Week", the Higher School of Economics organized the events aimed at developing students' professional skills and broadening their horizons:

- Intellectual quiz "What? Where? When?" allowed participants to demonstrate their knowledge in the field of marketing, creating an intellectual competition in an exciting format.

- The competition of video clips "PRO Marketing KZ" gave students an opportunity to show their creative abilities and present unique approaches to modern marketing trends.

- The competition of wall newspapers on "New Trends and Challenges in Marketing" stimulated the participants to analyze in detail the current trends in marketing and their visual expression in a creative form.

Guest lectures by leading experts became an important part of the week's educational program. Zhuldyz Kurumbayeva, Head of Marketing Department of SparkloKazakhstan project, shared her deep professional knowledge about modern trends in marketing. Asel Moldasheva, Head of Marketing Department of "DEZI INVEST" LLP, gave a lecture on "Practical Marketing", emphasizing the applied aspects of the profession.

At the end of the week, the winners of the competitions were awarded with memorable prizes, which emphasized the importance of students' participation in these educational events.

We are proud to share the successes of our students: Magzayeva Damel (Economics educational program) and Telyubaeva Mahabbat (Marketing educational program) went to study at one of the leading educational institutions in Russia — the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Moscow! The speakers gave a lecture covering issues such as combating financial pyramids, and highlighted topics including gambling addiction, money laundering, terrorism financing, and illegal cryptocurrency exchange. Students expressed interest in employment opportunities with the Agency for Financial Monitoring.

The agency representatives noted their readiness to welcome graduates skilled in modern technologies.

Meetings like these are crucial in helping graduates make informed choices about their future careers.
