Report on the Participation of the CFive Analytical Center in the International Conference in Geneva

On June 22 of this year, representatives of the CFive Analytical Center at the Astana International University participated in the international expert conference titled "Central Asia in Transformation: A New Role for Regional Cooperation and Global Engagement," held at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy in Geneva. The event was organized by the Bulan Institute and the Geneva School of Diplomacy. The conference brought together ambassadors of Central Asian states, representatives of international organizations, the diplomatic corps, leading think tanks, and the academic community.
S. Shalgimbayev, President of the CFive Analytical Center, delivered a keynote analytical presentation focusing on the political transformations in Kazakhstan, current trends in regional integration, and the growing role of Central Asia in the system of international relations. The speech provided an assessment of the ongoing institutional reforms in Kazakhstan, emphasizing the importance of effective governance, the rule of law, and strong state institutions as the foundation for sustainable socio-economic development and increasing the country's investment attractiveness.
A practical outcome of the participation in the conference was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the CFive Analytical Center at the Astana International University and the Bulan Institute, which outlines the development of a long-term partnership in analytical research, expert exchange, joint publications, international conferences, roundtables, and educational projects.
Furthermore, negotiations were held with the leadership of the Geneva School of Diplomacy to discuss prospects for cooperation with the Astana International University. Both parties expressed mutual interest in developing academic and expert interaction, implementing joint educational and research projects, and agreed to hold a follow-up working meeting to discuss specific areas of cooperation in detail.
The participation of the CFive Analytical Center in the conference provided an opportunity to present the Center's analytical approaches regarding the development of Kazakhstan and Central Asia to the international expert community, strengthen ties with leading foreign research and educational institutions, and expand international partnerships through concrete agreements aimed at implementing joint projects in both expert and academic fields.
