On June 18, 2026, the Pedagogical Institute of Astana International University organized a meeting with the renowned Kazakhstani scholar, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Zhaumbay Amanturlyuly Karayev.
The purpose of the event was to discuss contemporary changes in the education system, innovative pedagogical technologies, the modernization of secondary and higher education content, and to exchange experiences regarding key aspects of training future educators.
At the current stage, the education system is transitioning to a new qualitative level driven by the rapid development of digital technologies, the integration of artificial intelligence tools into the educational space, the need to develop students' functional literacy, and evolving labor market demands. In this context, organizing the educational process on a scientific basis, implementing effective teaching technologies, and enhancing teachers' professional competencies are of paramount importance.
During the meeting, Professor Zh.A. Karayev delivered a report on burning issues in the field of education and shared his extensive, long-term scientific and pedagogical experience.
The event covered the following key topics:
"Transformation of the Educational Process Based on a Technological Approach": This report focused on the scientific and methodological foundations of technologizing the educational process, designing learning outcomes, assessing student achievements, and mechanisms for improving the quality of education. Furthermore, it examined the role and significance of innovative technologies in the professional activity of modern teachers, placing a special emphasis on the effectiveness of the technological approach in modernizing the education system.
"Didactic Conditions for Modernizing Secondary Education Content Based on the STEM Approach": This section addressed the core principles of STEM education, the specifics of integrated teaching in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and the development of students' research and project-based skills. Additionally, the didactic conditions and practical opportunities for implementing the STEM approach into the learning process were explored.
During the session, participants exchanged views on contemporary trends in the education system, the evolving role of the teacher in the era of digital transformation, competency-based learning, the improvement of educational programs, and priority directions for training future teachers.
The event provided the faculty, curriculum developers, and young scientists with a great opportunity to get acquainted with advanced scientific views in education, exchange professional experience, and discuss development trends within the modern educational landscape.
