AIU CFO Conquers the Full IRONMAN in France

Almas Sultanov, Chief Financial Officer of Astana International University, became one of only three Kazakhstanis to successfully finish one of the most prestigious and challenging events in the global triathlon series — the full IRONMAN Tours Métropole, which gathered nearly 3,000 participants from over 60 countries worldwide.
The race brought together both professional athletes and the strongest endurance sports enthusiasts, confirming the high international status of the event. The competition took place over the classic Ironman distance, where participants consecutively and without a break cover a grueling 226 km course, consisting of a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a 42.2 km marathon run.
Almas Sultanov confidently completed all stages of the distance, crossing the finish line with a total time of just over 12 hours, showcasing a stable distribution of effort and a highly tactical race strategy. Completing a full Ironman distance stands as clear proof of an elite level of overall physical conditioning, discipline, and the ability to effectively manage bodily resources under conditions of extreme endurance.
The participation of the AIU representative in such a massive sports event reflects the university's philosophy aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle, resilience, and personal accountability. The successful completion of IRONMAN Tours Métropole marks a significant sports milestone in Almas Sultanov’s personal history and serves as a continuation of his successful journey in international Ironman series events.
