Professor of Astana International University Participated in an International Conference in Uzbekistan









The Asian Technological University in Karshi, Republic of Uzbekistan,
hosted the international scientific and practical conference “Issues of the History
and Culture of Uzbekistan in the Civilization System of Central Asia.” The event
was held in both offline and online formats, bringing together leading scholars,
researchers and university lecturers from different countries.
The conference served as an important academic platform for discussing
current issues related to the history, education, culture and humanitarian
cooperation of the peoples of Central Asia. Participants shared research findings,
exchanged scholarly views and discussed prospects for further interdisciplinary
collaboration.
Prominent representatives of historical science in Uzbekistan and scholars
from foreign universities delivered meaningful presentations. Among them were A.
S. Sagdullaev, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of
Uzbekistan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor at the National University of
Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek; R. Kh. Suleymanov, Honored Scientist of
the Republic of Uzbekistan, laureate of the Beruni State Prize and holder of the
Order of Friendship, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor; and Kh. E.
Yunusova, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor.
Particular interest was drawn by the presentation of Professor Sh. Kh.
Vokhidov from the Tajik Pedagogical Institute in Panjakent, Tajikistan, who spoke
about urban crafts and artisans in works of the “Shahroshub” genre. The
conference also featured reports on the economic and political significance of the
khanates of Western Turkestan in the context of the 19th-century Silk Road, the
Tashkent Cholera Riot of 1892, and the development of private and non-
governmental higher education institutions in Uzbekistan.
Astana International University was represented by Zamira Dzhuraevna
Baubekova, Professor of the Pedagogical Institute and Doctor of Pedagogical
Sciences. She represented Kazakhstan and took part in the academic discussion on
historical and cultural interaction among the peoples of Central Asia.
Each presentation was followed by active discussion, confirming the high
academic level of the research presented and the participants’ strong interest in
continuing intercultural and interdisciplinary dialogue.
The conference once again highlighted that the study of the history and
culture of Central Asia is not only a subject of academic research, but also an
important foundation for strengthening humanitarian cooperation, mutual
understanding and the preservation of the shared cultural heritage of the region.
