Astana International University Scientists Represent Kazakhstan at an International Symposium in Beijing

From May 29 to 31, 2026, Beijing, China, is hosting the international symposium "2026 CAS Frontiers in Science: A Youth-Led Vanguard International Symposium," focusing on ecosystem changes and sustainable pasture management in Eurasia.
The event was organized by the Beijing Yanshan Critical Zone National Observation and Research Station at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, with support from the Academic Salon and the Alliance of National and International Science Organizations (ANSO).
The symposium serves as a collaborative platform for leading scientists, researchers, and young professionals from China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia, Uzbekistan, Belgium, Germany, Ethiopia, and other countries. Participants gathered to discuss critical issues regarding ecosystem preservation, climate change adaptation, rational resource management, and the sustainable development of Eurasian steppe territories.
Astana International University is represented at this prestigious forum by the University Rector, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Anar Myrzagaliyeva, and a young AIU scientist, PhD Shynar Tustubayeva.
As part of the scientific program, Anar Myrzagaliyeva delivered a presentation titled “Problems of Pasture Degradation in the Steppe Regions of Kazakhstan.” Her report highlighted contemporary ecological challenges associated with land degradation in Kazakhstan's steppe regions and outlined strategic approaches to sustainable natural resource management.
Special attention at the symposium was dedicated to pasture ecosystem degradation, biodiversity conservation, environmental monitoring, and the application of innovative technologies in ecological research. The participants actively discussed the prospects of leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), Earth remote sensing technologies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and ecological modeling to address global environmental crises.
The comprehensive program includes plenary sessions, scientific discussions, thematic workshops, field research excursions, and a site visit to the Beijing Yanshan Critical Zone National Observation and Research Station. Attendees gained firsthand insights into advanced environmental monitoring practices and discussed prospects for future international research collaborations.
The participation of Astana International University representatives in this international symposium is highly valuable. Collaborating with scientists from diverse global institutions strengthens academic ties, enhances international scientific cooperation, and integrates AIU further into the global research community. Such events pave the way for knowledge exchange, youth science development, and joint research initiatives aimed at solving urgent environmental challenges.
