From March 29 to April 26, 2025, the Astana International University is running the “Children’s University” project for school students. As part of this initiative, first-year chemistry students organized an educational ecological event titled “We Are Friends of Nature!”.

The purpose of the event was to raise students' awareness about the importance of protecting the environment, enhance their ecological literacy, and encourage care for nature.

Throughout the event, schoolchildren explored various ecological phenomena through five laboratory stations. At each station, they performed safe and engaging chemistry experiments while expanding their ecological knowledge.

·                     At the “Photosynthesis” station, students studied the process of photosynthesis in plants and discussed the role of greenery in nature.

·                     At the “Red Signal” station, they learned about preventing ecological disasters and minimizing harmful impacts on the environment.

·                     At the “Air” station, students investigated the composition of air, its changes, and how it affects the natural world.

·                     At the “Ecoregeneration” station, ecological factors influencing environmental changes were discussed along with solutions to prevent them.

·                     Special attention was also given to the topic of forest fires, their harmful effects, and methods of prevention.

At the end of the event, faculty member G.M. Nurgazina expressed her gratitude to all participants and thanked the youngest students of the Children’s University for their active involvement.

This event became a valuable opportunity for schoolchildren to deepen their understanding of ecology and develop a responsible attitude toward environmental protection.
