On March 16, 2026, online guest lecture on the topic “Enzymes and Their Importance”
was organized by the Head of the 6B01503–Chemistry educational program, Candidate of
Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Zh.Zhumagalieva. The event was held in room 316.
The lecture was delivered by Tamriko Khobelia, Doctor of Chemical and Biological
Sciences, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Chemical Technologies
of the Georgian Technical University.
The lecture content was structured from the perspective of modern science and included a
comprehensive analysis of the role of enzymes in biological systems, their molecular structure,
mechanisms of catalytic activity, and the kinetic regularities of enzymatic reactions. In addition,
the applications of enzymes in medicine (diagnostics and therapy), the food industry
(optimization of technological processes), and biotechnology (industrial biocatalysis) were
substantiated with specific scientific examples.
The event was actively attended by faculty members of the Department of Natural
Sciences, as well as students of the 6B01503–Chemistry and 6B01502–Biology educational
programs. During the discussion, participants asked relevant questions and exchanged scientific
opinions.
The guest lecture contributed not only to deepening the participants’ theoretical
knowledge, but also to increasing their interest in research activities and enhancing their
professional competencies.
