A delegation of 50 students from the BLCU Kazakhstan Foundation program at Astana International University, accompanied by BLCU Kazakhstan faculty, embarked on a winter language internship at the Hainan campus of Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU).

The internship runs from December 15 to 30 and is an important part of the students' academic preparation. As part of the program, participants will deepen their knowledge of the Chinese language, broaden their understanding of Chinese culture and traditions, and gain insight into the unique features of education at one of the country's leading linguistic universities.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly greeted by Director Yu, Director of Beijing Language and Culture University. In his welcoming remarks, he emphasized the importance of educational exchange between Kazakhstan and China and noted BLCU's historical ties with Kazakhstan. In particular, the director recalled that the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, studied at BLCU nearly 40 years ago and expressed his sincere hope that the current cohort of students will produce a future president who has studied at Beijing Language and Culture University.

Classes for students are taught by renowned BLCU faculty in China, who have extensive experience teaching Chinese as a foreign language. This provides the internship participants with a unique opportunity to gain knowledge at the highest academic level.

It is important to note that this language internship is fully sponsored by the Chinese side, excluding round-trip airfare. Students are provided with comfortable living and studying conditions, creating a favorable environment for complete immersion in the language and cultural environment.

The winter internship in Hainan is not only an intensive course of study in Chinese but also a significant step toward developing future internationally recognized specialists capable of serving as a bridge of friendship and cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.
