On September 27–28, 2025, the experimental session of the KIOT Junior (Kazakhstan International Olympiad Team) preparatory camp was held at the Astana International University laboratory of Analytical Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry with Elements of Qualitative Analysis.

The participants were 8th–9th grade students — representatives of regional reserve teams from across Kazakhstan.

During the practical sessions, the schoolchildren carried out laboratory experiments on the qualitative analysis of cations and anions, which allowed them to consolidate their theoretical knowledge and gain hands-on experience.

The lessons were organized and conducted by members of the AIU Chemistry Club — prize-winners of Republican and International Olympiads:

  • Nurlan Kairov, 1st-year Master’s student of the specialty 7M01503 – Chemistry
  • Aslanbek Akramov, 2nd-year Bachelor’s student of the specialty 6B01503 – Chemistry

The club “Solving Experimental Problems in Chemistry” operates under the supervision of Associate Professor, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences D.A. Nurgalieva and aims to develop students’ research skills while promoting chemistry among schoolchildren.
