Astana International University and China National Nuclear Corporation Discussed a New Project for Training Qualified Specialists

At Astana International University (AIU), the leadership of the university met with Li Yudong, Head of the Representative Office of the Chinese State Nuclear Corporation "CNNC Overseas" in Kazakhstan. The main topic of the negotiations was the training of highly qualified engineers, IT specialists, and energy sector experts for the nuclear industry.
President of AIU, Serik Irsaliyev, emphasized that the active growth of trade and economic relations, a significant increase in the portfolio of investment projects, as well as the upcoming construction of a Chinese NPP in Kazakhstan, increase the demand for highly qualified specialists proficient in the Chinese language. Furthermore, the large-scale modernization of Chinese industry and technologies generates demand for engineers who understand China's legislation and technological standards.
AIU is actively training specialists in Chinese studies; a branch of the Beijing Language and Culture University operates at the university, where students acquire basic knowledge of the Chinese language. Contacts with leading Chinese universities are developing, and double-degree programs are being designed for the subsequent training of specialists in energy, construction, medicine, artificial intelligence, and agriculture. He invited the representative of "CNNC Overseas" to discuss the prospects for cooperation in the scientific and educational fields.
Farhad Kuanganov, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the AIU Endowment Fund, presented the potential of the university's target capital as a mechanism for sustainable financing of joint programs. The Fund is designed to become a reliable tool for supporting talented scientists and building new educational infrastructure, including by attracting corporate scholarship programs from major partners such as CNNC.
The CNNC representative highly appreciated the activities and potential of the university and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation in staff training and the implementation of joint research programs in the nuclear industry. The Corporation will prioritize the issue of personnel training and increase allocation of funds for educational and scientific purposes.
