AIU AND ASTANA TOURISM JOIN FORCES TO PREPARE SPECIALISTS IN THE MICE TOURISM INDUSTRY

Astana International University and Astana Tourism Development Center LLP have
signed a cooperation agreement aimed at advancing MICE tourism in the capital, implementing
joint educational and practice-oriented projects, and preparing highly qualified professionals for
Kazakhstan’s tourism industry within the 6B11101 “Tourism” educational program.
One of the first outcomes of this partnership is the development of the innovative "MICE
Management" course designed by Astana Tourism experts. The course is intended to educate a
new generation of professionals in the organization of international conferences, exhibitions,
forums, and other business events, combining global best practices with the specific needs and
development trends of Kazakhstan’s MICE industry.
The curriculum covers strategic event management, MICE destination marketing,
international congress bidding processes, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, event
economic impact assessment, risk management, and sustainability principles. Special emphasis is
placed on practical training through real-life case studies, participation in industry projects,
meetings with leading professionals, and the development of students' own projects aimed at
promoting Astana as an international MICE destination.
The partnership between Astana International University and Astana Tourism
Development Center LLP represents an important step toward strengthening collaboration
between academia and the tourism industry. It will expand educational opportunities for students,
enhance the quality of professional training, and foster a community of specialists capable of
advancing Kazakhstan's business tourism on the international stage. The joint initiatives are
expected to contribute to increasing Astana's competitiveness as one of the leading MICE
tourism destinations in Central Asia.
