Green Alliance: New Horizons for AIU and Uzbekistan

Astana International University (AIU) has officially solidified its partnership with the Central Asian University of Environmental and Climate Change Studies (Green University, Uzbekistan) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding. This event marks the beginning of extensive cooperation in sustainable development and climate policy, which is a key strategic priority for our university’s transformation.
This partnership opens broad perspectives for the academic and scientific growth of AIU. Collaboration with Green University allows our university to actively develop international academic mobility programs, providing students and faculty with access to advanced educational resources and global best practices. Thanks to our Uzbek partner’s robust network of international connections, our students will be able to participate in joint projects, internships, and exchange experiences with leading environmental scientists and climate policy experts.
The memorandum holds particular significance for strengthening the research potential of AIU. Joint work within the specialized laboratories and research institutes under the Green University structure will ensure a new level of training for our PhD students and young scientists. The primary focus will be on areas critical to our region, such as climate change adaptation, biodiversity protection, sustainable natural resource management, and the development of green technologies.
Integrating the scientific expertise of both countries will enable AIU to train a new generation of specialists possessing interdisciplinary knowledge at the intersection of ecology, economics, and public administration. This partnership reinforces our university's position as a leading center of excellence capable of proposing innovative solutions for the environmental sustainability of all Central Asia. The signing of the memorandum is a vital step in implementing AIU's strategy to foster an environmentally responsible academic community and promote transboundary scientific dialogue.
