In
Spain, in the ancient city of Toledo, a personal exhibition of the renowned
Kazakh artist and professor at the Higher School of Arts and Humanities of the
Astana International University, Serzhan Bashirov, took place. The exhibition,
titled Escuchando los metales («Listening to Metals»), showcased his unique
creations made from materials such as wood, brass, leather, silver, bone, and
bronze. These works seamlessly blended with the historic ambiance of the Ar+51
gallery, located in the very heart of the ancient capital.
The
Escuchando los metales exhibition is far from being the first instance of
Serzhan Bashirov's recognition abroad. His works are part of the collection at
the Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw, Poland, and his jewelry was featured in
the avant-garde collection of the British fashion brand Aminaka Wilmont, which
won the prestigious Fashion Fringe competition in 2007. In 2020, Bashirov was
invited as a special guest to the In Motion («In Motion») exhibition at the
gallery of the renowned German jeweler Martina Dempf in Berlin, where his
extraordinary works were displayed alongside the masterpieces of the German
artist.
