Astana International University hosted a meeting with the famous test cosmonaut Mukhtar Rabatovich Aimakhanov. The event was held in a warm and productive atmosphere and was dedicated to discussing current issues of interaction in the field of science and education, as well as training of personnel for the space industry.

Kazakhstan, having a unique legacy in the field of space exploration thanks to the Baikonur Cosmodrome, continues to develop its own space technologies, support technology startups and expand international cooperation. In this context, dialogue with practitioners and the implementation of scientific initiatives are of particular importance.

M.R. Aimakhanov emphasized the need for early involvement of young researchers in research activities, which is a key condition for the formation of an innovative ecosystem capable of ensuring the competitiveness of Kazakhstan in the field of space technologies.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the prospects for the participation of Astana International University in the Program of Scientific and Technological Experiments on the International Space Station (ISS). Both parties came to an understanding in solving the following fundamental and applied problems and areas in microgravity conditions:

- Development of technology for transmitting electricity from Earth to the ISS and accumulation in new-generation high-density batteries.

- Creation of an acoustic device for detecting micro and nano-defects in spacecraft structures.

- Development of systems for detecting and localizing air leaks in sealed ISS modules.

- Use of diatomite substrates for growing plants in space to increase the autonomy of crews.

The implementation of these projects is of strategic importance both for science and for practical application in various industries on Earth. They contribute to the deepening of international cooperation and open up new horizons in space exploration.

AIU President Serik Aztaevich expressed gratitude and noted the importance of such events for the university community.
