Admission Requirements for the Joint Bulgarian–Kazakh Master’s Degree Programme in English “Environmental Management” Leading to the Award of Two Degrees (a European Degree from Sofia University and a Kazakh Degree from Astana International University) for the Academic Year 2026/2027 Requirements for Students Admitted to Astana International University (AIU) By 30 September 2026, an Official List signed by the Dean and the Order of Admission to the Joint Master’s Degree Programme at Astana International University must be submitted. Based on this list and the legalized documents required for the recognition of higher education qualifications, students will be admitted to Sofia University and registered in the register of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria. By 30 October 2026, students must sign an agreement with Predtechi BG, the coordinator of the Joint Master’s Degree Programme, acting under the mandate of Sofia University, for the provision of logistics, document processing, and administrative support prior to admission. The agreement shall be concluded upon submission of copies of the original diploma and Diploma Supplement. The fee under this agreement shall be transferred by the student to the bank account of Predtechi BG in accordance with the terms of the agreement. By 10 November 2026, students must submit all documents required for registration in the register of the Ministry of Education and Science, including documents for the recognition of higher education qualifications: 1. A copy of the original higher education diploma and a notarized colour copy thereof (PDF format). 2. A copy of the original Diploma Supplement and a notarized colour copy thereof, including grades and academic workload for individual courses (PDF format). 3. A notarized colour copy of any document certifying a change of name, where applicable. 4. A scanned copy of the completed Application for Recognition (PDF format). 5. A scanned copy of the completed Declaration (PDF format). 6. A scanned copy of Questionnaire Form 3.8. 7. A scanned copy of the international passport. Documents referred to in Items 1, 2, and 3 must be translated and legalized in Bulgaria. Students shall pay an administrative fee of EUR 140 for the recognition of higher education qualifications at Sofia University. The cost of translation and legalization depends on the content of the diploma and Diploma Supplement. If the diploma is issued in the Kazakh language, it must first be translated into Russian or English in Kazakhstan and the translation must be notarized. The translated text must fully correspond to the original Kazakh-language text. The approximate cost starts from EUR 260, depending on the volume of text. IMPORTANT: All copies must be in colour and of high quality. December 2026 – January 2027 Submission of completed documentation and issuance of the Rector’s Order for admission to Sofia University. By 16 February 2027 Students must sign an agreement with Sofia University and pay the tuition fee for the spring semester in the amount of EUR 900. Financial Conditions After Admission Tuition fee for the first (winter) semester: EUR 900, payable to the bank account of Sofia University. Prior to Admission * Document processing and academic support fee – EUR 50; * Document processing fee at Sofia University – EUR 26; * Recognition of higher education qualifications: * Translation and legalization – from EUR 260 (depending on the content of the documents); * Administrative recognition fee at Sofia University – EUR 140. At the end of the first semester, following the examination period, students shall pay the tuition fee for the second semester in the amount of EUR 900 to the bank account of Sofia University.
