Eco-journalism plays an important role in modern society. Eco-journalists report on environmental events, analyze and contribute to critical consideration of the actions of governments, corporations and organizations, identifying environmental crimes and policy flaws.
Through their materials, they teach the audience the basics of ecology, sustainable development and the importance of protecting nature, create a dialogue platform for discussing environmental issues in society with the involvement of various groups — from local communities to international organizations. All this contributes to the formation of public opinion in favor of environmental protection.
Nargiz Kasimova, an expert in the field of eco-journalism, Doctor of Philology, Professor at the Tashkent University of Journalism and Mass Communication, media coach, director of the NGO Ecologist, told environmental students about this today, September 11, 2024.
Environmental students had a unique opportunity to hear interesting and inspiring cases from her practice as an eco-journalist and social activist. It was especially interesting to hear about the professor's project on the impact of climate change on gender-based violence.
At the end of the lecture, the professor presented her e-book on eco-journalism to all participants. 📖🎁 The students and teachers thanked the guest for the gift and expressed their desire to cooperate further. 🤝
