On September 20, 2024, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in collaboration with the Information and Analytical Center for Environmental Protection, held a roundtable on the topic "Environmental Culture and International Commitments: Challenges and Development Paths in Kazakhstan." The event was opened with welcoming remarks by Zhomart Aliev, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Yuri Fenopetov, Deputy Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Astana.

Ainur Seitkankyzy, Dean of the School of Natural Sciences, delivered a report on "The Role of Universities in Shaping Society's Environmental Culture." The event was also attended by representatives of the Ministry's Department of Environmental Policy, educational institutions, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Participants discussed the development of environmental culture in society, increasing public awareness of environmental protection issues, the role of NGOs in effective waste management and achieving sustainable development, and Kazakhstan's environmental policy in the context of international commitments
