On March 12, 2024, the exciting lecture on "Dangerous chemicals: a threat to the environment and human health" was held at Astana International University. An expert in the field of chemical safety, a UN volunteer and a member of the National Network on Chemical Safety, Persistent Organic Pollutants and Obsolete Pesticides "ToxicNet" held an open lecture.
The National Network on Chemical Safety, POPS and Obsolete Pesticides "ToxicNet" is a community of specialists and stakeholders from Kazakhstan who are engaged in the study and management of toxic substances, including persistent organic pollutants (POPS) and obsolete pesticides, as well as their waste.
The network was created by the Center for Sustainable Development Public Foundation within the framework of the project "Pesticide Lifecycle Management and Elimination of Pesticide pops in Central Asian countries and Turkey". This is an important initiative aimed at solving pollution problems and ensuring environmental safety in the region. Astana International University has been a member of this network since November 2, 2023.
Knowing the safety rules when working with chemicals helps not only to protect yourself and others, but also to save our planet from the serious consequences of pollution!
