Another interesting event in the cultural life of the Higher School of Art and Design aroused genuine interest among students who are partial to the fine arts. On November 1, the Higher School of Art and Culture of Astana International University held a master class on abstract painting with acrylic on canvas. It was conducted by senior teacher, member of the Eurasian Union of Designers Gulshat Akonovna Imangalieva.
Acrylic is an amazing material, an invention of the 20th century. Its structure is similar to gouache (diluted with water) and to oil paint: when dry, it is not afraid of moisture. This is an ideal material for working in the open air, when creating sketches, etudes, and for working in mixed techniques. Acrylic paints help bring unusual creative ideas to life; the process of creating paintings and sketches is accelerated.
This is what could be observed during the master class. It was interesting to see how the subconscious of students, etc., splashed out in a riot of saturated colors.
The master class was held in a creative, working atmosphere; everyone was happy to communicate and have the opportunity to try their hand at a new genre of painting.
