AIU Hosts Meeting with Intellectual Property Expert Dipanjan “DJ” Nag



























On October 5, Astana International University hosted a meeting with Dr. Dipanjan “DJ” Nag, an international expert in intellectual property, technology transfer, and venture investment.
Dipanjan Nag is President of InnovAito LLC, a professor at Rutgers University, and a venture partner at Radix Ventures. For more than 20 years, he has worked in research commercialization, patent portfolio evaluation, and the development of innovative projects.
The meeting focused on bringing research outcomes to market, protecting copyrights, developing technology startups, and commercializing university research. The participants also discussed the use of artificial intelligence as an intellectual property asset and a tool for patent analysis.
The expert explained that when assessing technology projects, investors pay particular attention to the patent portfolio, scientific foundation, and market potential of a project. He also emphasized the importance of securing intellectual property rights at an early stage of startup development.
Dipanjan Nag shared his international experience and discussed mechanisms for transforming scientific initiatives into startups and licensing projects. Under his leadership, more than 80 startups have been established and over 600 exclusive licensing agreements have been concluded with industry partners.
Participants received useful information on commercializing scientific ideas, attracting investment to technology projects, and managing products effectively. The meeting created new opportunities for developing research and entrepreneurial initiatives at the University.
