AIU Hosts “Harvard Mindset: The Architecture of Thinking” Business Meeting

Astana International University hosted a business meeting entitled “Harvard Mindset: The Architecture of Thinking.” The two-hour event brought together Regina Ryan, President of Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs, and business experts.
Saniya Irsaliyeva delivered the welcoming remarks at the opening of the meeting. She highlighted the evening’s mission: to support the development of Kazakhstani businesses and introduce global approaches to management and thinking.
The primary purpose of the meeting was to develop participants’ leadership skills. Regina Ryan delivered a presentation entitled “Harvard Mindset: The Thinking Architecture of a Global Leader.” She explained why businesses often reach a plateau, discussed the differences between the mindsets of local and international entrepreneurs, and highlighted the role of a business owner as a strategist.
Speaker Nurgisa Seiyilov presented methods and approaches essential for business development. He addressed common barriers to growth, including excessive dependence on the owner, a team’s inability to operate without constant supervision, the absence of a clear strategy and priorities, and a lack of systematized business processes.
A session featuring Regina Ryan, Zhan Karsybayev, and Adil Nurgozhin focused on the role of a board of directors in business development. The speakers emphasized the importance of structured decision-making, partnerships, and entering new markets. They also shared practical insights for early-stage companies.
During the event, Kristina Weber presented a leadership and business management program for Central Asian entrepreneurs, jointly developed by Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs and Yassa Business Institute. The six-week program is designed to improve business systems, develop leadership thinking, and enable participants to work practically on their own companies.
At the end of the meeting, participants asked the speakers questions and received detailed information about the program. The event enabled entrepreneurs to identify key challenges in their businesses, reconsider their management systems, and explore methods needed to grow at a global level.
