China’s Mid-Autumn Festival Celebrated at AIU

Astana International University hosted a cultural and educational event entitled “Under the Same Moon” in celebration of Chinese culture. Dedicated to the Mid-Autumn Festival, the event brought together students from Kazakhstan and China in a shared cultural space.

For the Chinese people, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a special occasion symbolizing family unity, mutual respect, and spiritual closeness. The full moon represents harmony and wholeness. During the event, students learned about the origins of the festival and its main traditions.

A theatrical performance entitled “The Legend of Chang’e” transported the audience into the world of ancient Chinese mythology. The performance revealed the festival’s historical and spiritual significance and became a memorable part of the program.

One of the highlights of the event was a series of video greetings from fourth-year students studying at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing, as well as representatives of the partner university. Their warm messages conveyed via video became a symbol of mutual respect between the young people of Kazakhstan and China.

“Under the Same Moon” was more than a festive program—it was a meaningful initiative aimed at strengthening friendship between the two countries. May the unity of the youth of Kazakhstan and China continue to flourish under one sky and one moon.
